Weld Analysis

An accurate weld analysis requires several measurements. 
Welding Expert, a groundbreaking new imaging tool from Struers,
world leader in materialography, focuses on the weld bead itself. 
Typical measurements that are taken include:

• Definition of metal sheet borders (see blue lines)
• Automatic placement of mini penetration line (red line)
• Adjustment of penetration depth line (orange/green line)
• Leg length definition
• Throat definition
• Gap between the two metal sheets

Welding Expert automatically compares these 6 measurements to
stored acceptance criteria. For each weld bead measurement,
an image and weld analysis report is created.  All measurements
are saved into global files for use in statistical analysis.

Welding Expert includes an Excel commands module for the qualitative
monitoring of weld beads and parts, including evolution of the weld bead
over time, (trending) distribution, variance, standard deviation and more.
